In 2010, Mike Etzel and Carey Critchlow purchased a stunning parcel of land, adjacent to Beaux Freres' esteemed Upper Terrace and sheltered by a protective stand of Douglas Fir. Here, they thoughtfully planted a 12-acre, south-facing Pinot noir site showcasing a meticulously curated selection of 17 clones. Remaining true to their commitment to sustainable viticulture, the virgin marine sedimentary soils in the vineyard have only been farmed with organic and biodynamic principles to preserve the native ground cover and biodiversity. Mike fills our 5 picking bins with a mix of clones from the site, including Wadenswil, Musigny, DDO, D47, 777, 114 & Chalone, which will be co-fermented for this micro-production, single vineyard expression.
